Bir fotoğraf karesi… Bakması zor, hatırlattıkları çok daha zor. Bir an, sonra arka arkaya onlarca an, herhangi birinin yüzüne odaklanmaya korkuyorum. Hızlı geçmeye çalışıyorum fotoğrafları, her biri tam netleşmeden diğerine… Ne yaşandığını renklerin dokusundan anlamaya çalışıyorum. Zor, zor olduğu kadar da yaşamanın anlamını ve yükünü hatırlamak kadar değerli. Bir zaman dilimine geri dönecekken neyi anımsamanın bize güç vereceğini düşünmeyi istemek… Hangi fotoğraf karesi onarır bu parçalanmış hafızayı?

A single frame from a photograph… Hard to look at, and even harder to bear what it brings back. One moment, then dozens more in rapid succession. I’m afraid to focus on any face. I try to move quickly through the photographs, each one replaced by the next before it can fully come into focus. I try to understand what happened from the texture of the colors alone. It is difficult – yet as valuable as being reminded of the meaning and burden of living. Standing on the verge of returning to a certain stretch of time, one cannot help but wonder which memories are the ones that give us strength. Which photographic frame could mend this fragmented memory?
